Featured in: “Across the Finish Line”, August 2010 cover story
Time: 5:58
Ranking: 163rd overall, 39th in the 35-39
male age group
Words from the finish line: “While doing this
race, I swore to myself I’d never do another Ironman race – the same
thing I did during my first Ironman race in 2007, and I’ve done four
more races since then. It is without a doubt a painful but joyous
experience. It's not about being a masochist but more of earning
something at the finish – a sense of accomplishment from hard work.
It’s special and can't be taken away, thus, the reason for this
cycle.”

Name: Abe Tayag

Time: 5:01
Ranking: 27th

hope for the best, plan for the worst and expect the unexpected.”

Featured in: “Across the Finish Line”, August 2010 cover story
Time: 5:27
Ranking: 92nd overall, 20th in the 35-39

Words from the finish line: “Every race is
different. There are a lot of variables come race day, like weather
conditions, or you get kicked on the head, have a flat tire, etc. Don't
let these things ruin your day. Just take them as they come and just
finish your race!”

Name: Miguel Lopez

Ranking: 43rd overall, 12th in the 30-34

Words from the finish line: “I had a head-on
collision with a motorbike at the last 6-8k on my bike. Nevertheless, I
didn't give up and just went on with my race. There will still be
more races to come for sure! Hope the Ironman 70.3 Philippines will be
here to stay!!!”
Name: Doray Ellis
Team: Fitness First
Featured in: “Three Times the Power”, August 2009 cover story
Words
from the finish line: “A month before the race I got several leg
and knee injuries: shin splints on my left, EDL and ITB on my right.
During the race, I took the risk of taking a pain killer so I wouldn’t
feel any pain but sadly it didn’t take away cramps! Malas!”
