Action movies, war movies… There are only a few other exhilarating ways to pass your time while chewing pop-corn. Take a bite out of our Top 12 Guns in Movies. We daresay this list will obliterate any other in its path! Boom!

1.    Terminator  - Winchester 1887
This is the gun where the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) arrives from the future, enters a bar filled with bad asses, shows them who is bad to the bone and simply grabs it from the bar owner. This John Browning designed 12 gauge shotgun is regarded as the penultimate lever action firearm. This is definitely not for the faint of heart. I’d like to see you grab it off someone and then cock and shoot with one hand! Hasta la vista, baby!

2.    No Country for Old Men – Remington 11-87 Shotgun
American gangsters made the sawed-off shotgun famous. It’s nothing new. But try sawing off a semi-automatic 12 gauge shot gun and then stoically going on a killing spree… That’s Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) for you.

3.    Commando – M202A1 FLASH
Arnie is really fond of big toys. In Commando, he defined ‘armed to the teeth’! His big baby that can launch four rockets shouts for itself!

Pictured above: machine gun, survival knife, ammo, pistol, grenade, face paint etc. Add a nuclear bomb to his get up and he would rule the world.

4.    Desperado – Ruger KP90, MAC-1, Rocket Launcher
What do you do when you see three mariachi players walking down the street? Be nice, smile and perhaps run for cover. When Antonio Banderas was caught in a bind, he called on his 2 buddies. When they played, a small town in Mexico and a stretch limo were leveled to pieces. How did they do it? Answer: a set of Ruger KP90 pistols and MAC-1 sub-machine guns, plus a rocket launcher concealed in a guitar case. I’d like to see Rage Against the Machine do that next time they come to town.

5.    Rambo, Commando –  M60 E 3
Rambo rescues a girl and comes out with the biggest gun blazing - snake ammo included! Yes, the M60E 3 is fed a belt of bullets with up to 200 rounds. Chances are, every kid who grew up watching Rambo always imagined himself grabbing the biggest and baddest gun around shooting all the bad guys while escaping unscathed. Charlie Sheen (as Topper Harley) made sure he lived the dream in Hot Shots Part Deux marking the start of his "winning" ways. But no one can say they started it all as Arnie (Commando) was already busting the M60 E out in the first half of the 80s!

6.    Bourne Ultimatum, Die Hard 2, The Fugitive, Lord of War, Enemy of the State and the list DOES go on! – The Glock
Gaston Glock is the pioneering designer behind the truly legendary and iconic gun simply called the Glock. Its polymer frame is very tough and very light. Everyone once thought that it was undetectable by x-ray machines because of the plastic parts. While that has proven to be a myth, its accuracy and reliability after 1,000 rounds, being dipped in water and mud, and run over by a car are simple truths. I’m willing to bet (all in!) that modern gun-related movies made in the last 15 years would mostly have a Glock in it.

7.    James Bond – Walther PPK
While the jury is out for best portrayal of James Bond, Sean Connery is often touted as one of the best. There are, however, two things that James Bond himself  is sure of: (1) His martinis – shaken but not stirred and (2) his pistol the Walther PPK. It is reliable and very easy to conceal. Men and women alike will enjoy shooting this suave little projectile shooter.

8.    Enemy at the Gates - Mosin Nagant M91/30
Vassily Zaitsev (portrayed by Jude Law) is a Soviet sniper who has had over 200 confirmed kills during WW2 fighting the Axis armies. And not just in the movies - this is a real-world recognized fact! And he did this with the standard issue Mosin Nagant. The Mosin Nagant, despite the entry of the AK, still survived for decades. It was distributed by Russia to most countries in the European eastern bloc and China.

9.    Lord of War, Blood Diamond, Rambo III, Apocalypse Now -  AK 47
Winning a design competition in USSR during WW2, Mikhail Kalashnikov set out to produce what has become one of the most iconic guns of any kind around the world. The AK47 is still in use and while it has had many variations, the essence has never changed. This ultra tough and never-fail machine gun is the symbol of most rebellious armies and even the Mexican drug cartels. While this assault rifle is not known for its elegance, Sydney Hall holds a gold plated version in Lord of War. Doesn’t it just add some menace?!

10.    The Patriot, Last of the Mohicans – Flintlock rifle
Benjamin Martin’s (Mel Gibson) hand was forced to fight back when they hurt his family and captured his son. He advised his son William Martin (Logan Lerman) to “Aim small, miss small” when shooting. And with their Flintlock rifles, they killed the British invaders with dead accuracy. Daniel Day-Lewis in The Last of the Mohicans also had his share of kills with the Flintlock rifle. Flintlock technology was used for over 2 centuries. While prone to many problems, from misfires to non-sparking this is still a must have for the hard-core collectors. Today, it is used for black powder hunting.

11.    Dirty Harry – Smith and Wesson Model 29
“C’mon punk, make my day”. Boom! Lt. Harry Calahan (Clint Eastwood) in his cool-as-cucumber manner is no cop to mess with. He is just begging punks to make his day. No punk who ever dared has survived a .44 magnum after Lt. Harry Calahan is done with him. His Model 29 carries the largest and most popular large bore cartridge that is simply one bad ass MOFO.

12.    Scarface, Predator – M16 with M203 grenade launcher
Wouldn’t you just want to go all Tony Montana and bust the line: “Say hello to my little friend!” to the bad guys? The M16 is the archrival to the AK 47. It has become the standard issue in the US Military and other militaries around the world. Tony Montana, played by Al Pacino, starts out by launching the grenade and just shoots all who f#@$k with him. So next time the bad guy wants to play rough, bring out your little friend!
