A Dream Date With My Dream Girl

I want to surprise my wife this Valentine's day, which also happens to be just 3 days after her birthday (Feb. 11), I'm here writing about and hoping to win the Perfect Valentine's Date Plan. I want to reward her for being a wonderful wife and a very hands-on mom to our kids. I believe after everything she has been through, surprising her with a perfect Valentine's date is the least that I can do.

Last year, my wife was heavy with our third child. It was a delicate condition that she stopped working for the whole duration of her pregnancy due to the advice of her OB-GYNE to go on a complete bedrest until she has given birth. Having had a history of two premature deliveries, she had no other choice but to heed our doctor's advice and just stayed at home, lying down 80% of the time for nine looooong months. I remember, on her 40th birthday last year, we just had Chinese food delivered to our home since she was craving for it and well, she couldn't go out on a date with me. Same thing happened three days after ' Valentine's day. I just brought home a cake and gave her a bouquet of flowers.

This year, I am hoping to make our Valentine's celebration more special and more meaningful. To start with, I will order these beautiful tulips from Tecson Flowers ahead of time and have the bouquet delivered to my choice of restaurant, which I will tell you later.

The night before the big date, I will ask her to pack some clothes with probably a nice cocktail dress. By then, she would already have an inkling that we're probably going somewhere. But the place would still remain a secret. I will also ask her to pack some clothes for the kids so she will think that we'll just have an outing somewhere and spend some bonding moments with the kids. I wouldn't want her to be busy and be stressed on Valentine's so I'll also ask our nanny to go with us, too.

Since Valentine's day will fall on a Sunday, we would first attend Sunday worship early in the morning.

Feb. 14 ' 11:00 A.M.
We're off to Bellevue Hotel at 11 am. We'll be arriving at the hotel just in time for lunch. By this time, I guess, she's already pretty amazed with everything that's happening. After checking in, the kids will be taking their naps or preparing to go swimming in the hotel pool while, my wife and I are having our Swedish massage courtesy of Bellevue. I know this massage is such a welcome treat for her. I just want her to relax and to feel special.

Feb. 14 ' Night time
Around 5:30 PM, after ordering room service for our kids' dinner, a Toyota Altis from Diamond Rent-a-Car arrives. Wearing her simple cocktail dress, she kisses our kids one-by-one and we bid them goodnight as we head towards the elevator to spend a wonderful evening together. Yes, just the two of us. Soon, we find ourselves along Bel-Air Makati. As we enter the Alba Restaurante Espanol walking hand-in-hand, a table for two awaits us with a bouquet of beautiful tulips from Tecson Flowers. Just right after we're seated, I would hand her the bouquet tucked with my love note.

Appetizers: Gambas Al Ajilo and/or Calamares
Sopa: Sopa de Calabaza
Enzalada: Enzalada del Ceasar

While, waiting for our order of main course consisting of Lengua Sevillana, Salpicado, and Paella Valenciana, she reads the note. I guess, the note sums up everything I have wanted to tell her...

Our dinner ends with an order of Brazo Gitano, sweet and divine.
