Nothing hits the spot like an ice-cold beer, and with all the
fancy foreign beers lining Manila bars these days, it’s hard to tell
which beer brand to yell at the bartender over the eardrum-busting
music. Juice.PH introduces the cultivated art of "beerology," matching
each selected beer to a different interpretation of the Epic Night Out,
as well as the hand that should be holding that malt bottle.

Hoegaarden

The cost: Php150
The hit: 4.9%
Beer ‘buds: Definitely the most popular choice amongst all the imported
beers available, Hoegaarden is a go-to beer for both genders. Its taste
is full, but not too overpowering, and it hits you just right every
time.
The hand that holds it: The cute guy gathering the guts to approach his
crush – he’s holding two bottles.
Pair this with a night of: Since it's the foreign beer of the majority,
it’s definitely one that gives a stylish spin to a casual get-together,
like a Saturday barbecue at a friend’s house, or your co-worker’s
birthday bash.
Stella Artois

The cost: Php100
The hit: 5%
Beer ‘buds: Light yet refined, Stella has a warm, honey taste that goes
down smooth. Naturally, it’s the favorite of the fun-loving girl who
likes her lager.
The hand that holds it: That girl by the bar laughing and downing shots
with her guy friends. She may not be a tomboy but she’s always ready for
an adventure.
Pair this with a night of: A night on the town with your best buds in
tow. Karaoke or night swimming – who knows where you’ll end up?
Timmermans Framboise

The cost: Php200
The hit: 4%
Beer ‘buds: Less than the regular 330ml, Timmerman's is for the girly
girl with money to spend.
The hand that holds it: one of those girls who wears high heels paired
with a short skirt or a low blouse – never both! (Also known as an SWC:
slut with class).
Pair this with a night of: This bottle is best for a night out with the
girls, when all you wanna do is dance and have some fun. Wooo!
Chimay Blue

The cost: Php200
The hit: 9%
Beer ‘buds: Chimay Blue is dark and masculine, so only real men will
dare. It's the Red Horse of Belgium, and it's meant to be taken
seriously. The taste itself is surprisingly full, and lingers in your
mouth in all its 9% alcohol content glory.
The hand that holds it: The guy with the loudest voice and the most
girls surrounding him. Yeah, basically the alpha male.
Pair this with a night of: Any night when the goal is to get drunk –
but in style.
(Where to sample these foreign beers? Head to The Distillery in Bonifacio Global City or Beers Paradise in Makati.)
San Mig Light

The cost: Php26
The hit: 5%
Beer ‘buds: Lessening the risk of getting a beer belly on all those
nights out, San Mig Light is the alcoholic staple of boy and girls
alike. Unfortunately, along with a lack of calories comes a lack of
taste.
The hand that holds it: The seasoned scenester who needs a drink that’s
lighter on the calories and the cash, in order to get through a busy
social calendar full of gigs and exhibits.
Pair this with a night of: A steady, post-work drinking sesh at your
favorite resto-bar, or maybe an evening of good music, unwinding to the
plaintive, meandering notes of your favorite classical guitarist.
Red Horse

The cost: Php22
The hit: Find out for yourself!
Beer ‘buds: When that first swig hits your gullet, the undeniably strong
taste of Red
Horse lets you know you’re in for a wild night.
The hand that holds it: The classic, rock ‘n’ roll front man, dripping
with sweat and sex appeal, wielding a Red Horse in one hand and a mic in
the other.
Pair this with a night of: Wasakan na! (growled out in true Razorback
style).
San Mig Strong Ice

The cost: Php26
The hit: 7%
Beer ‘buds: Sweet yet strong, San Mig Strong Ice is known to be traydor
so you better take the label seriously.
The hand that holds it: The good girl who’s stayed home for way too long
– all that pent-up energy is just craving for a wild night out.
Pair this with a night of: Drinking games, tabletop dancing, and general
craziness that you probably won’t want to remember the next morning.
San Mig Pale Pilsen

The cost: Php25
The hit: 5%
Beer ‘buds: The one and only Pale Pilsen. The classic. Its smooth flavor
and suave hit make it the timeless choice for anyone who calls himself
(or herself) a Filipino.
The hand that holds it: That groovy old timer who’s still rock ’n’ roll
despite pushing forty.
Pair this with a night of: a family reunion where the boys of all ages
can come and get together—take it to the beach to really soak up the
good vibes.

I remembered a joke my friend used told me, The professor asked a student " Why is it that all your answers in my exam is 'red horse'? " The student then replied "Ito ang tama" :))

Awesome read! I love beer, and in this list the best one for me is Stella Artois. I like the Chimay Red more than the blue though.
