This seems to me like a romantic version of the dark and brooding STRANGER THAN FICTION. Full of charm and nerdy neurotic wit, Ruby Sparks is the kind of movie Star Cinema is better off making, if it had any intelligence and daring. Zoe kazan lights up the screen, and Annette Bening is aging beautifully. This is a writer's movie, so if you're looking for CGI or gore, then pass.
