The film is interesting in that it tells the superhero story in such a small scale. Though the ideas are underdeveloped, this is mostly a smart picture. Chronicle is a little bit more than the sum of its parts. The found footage conceit falls apart fairly quickly, providing distracting little details that tear into the reality of the movie. The truth of this movie is that cruelty begets more cruelty, which becomes dangerous once the powerless gain power. It's a classic concept that's always worth repeating
