In news that isn't really news: Anderson Cooper finally admits to the public he's gay

In an email correspondence with The Daily Beast's Andrew Sullivan, the CNN news anchor admitted he's gay.

"The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud."

Cooper's coming out may have influenced Frank Ocean, of rap collective Odd Future, to come out. On Wednesday, Frank Ocean posted a screenshot of an entry he made on his computer. In it he wrote about his first love, a man.

Higgs Boson particle discovered, Stephen Hawking loses bet

The most significant breakthrough in science in the last 40 years is the reported discovery of the Higgs boson particle, or the "God particle", which was confirmed by scientists on Wednesday. The Higgs boson particle is said to hold the key in understanding the existence of life in the universe.

Theoretical physicist (and Smartest Man Alive) Stephen Hawking lost $100 on a bet that the discovery of the subatomic particle wouldn't happen in his lifetime. We're pretty sure this is one bet he's glad he lost.
