Abstraction and Abstract Expressionism, the major styles of non-representational form, is increasingly out of fashion in the contemporary art world. Popular perception is that it has no content, is too niche and lacking in the skill required to be ‘good art’. As such, current interests in Figurative Realism continue to dominate exhibitions, with little interest in looking at current trends in Abstraction today. |
