Pop! Goes My Dinner
We all have a favorite movie, cartoon, or TV show that takes us back to happier, carefree, stupider times, so why not bring back the memories with some good ol’ comfort food and a nostalgic movie night? You can even turn it into a trivia game by having your guests guess the pop cultural reference of each dish: the one with the most correct answers can take home the original DVD of The Breakfast Club that you’ve got playing on the TV—and down a shot, of course! Scatter vintage and movie-like props around the table spread, like those old rotary telephones, your dad’s (or your own) collection of vinyls, maybe your retro-inspired, huge-ass headphones, and the 3D glasses you snitched from the cinema, to really get that retro, movie-set feel. Leave a couple of polaroid cameras lying around to take instant nostalgic snapshots (or better yet, supply your shutterbug friend with some free film and you’re all set). Don’t forget to use popcorn tins for some of the food and paper napkins to complete the look!
