If you watched James Cameron's "Titanic" two times in a row, or if you watched the first two movies of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy (the Director's Cut) in one sitting, that's how long this marathon Australian Open Final was. It was the longest Grand Slam match ever played in one day, and the longest Final ever, beating, by almost one full hour, the previous record of 4 hours and 54 minutes, in the 1988 U.S. Open between Mats Wilander and Ivan Lendl.
