The SEPTEMBER Issues

Posted on September 06, 2012 by Spanky Hizon Enriquez
My favorite time of the month is here!

Let's rate the covers of the country's top magazines this September!

5. FHM

Why oh why has this publication, supposedly the #1 selling monthly for years now, insist on coming up with these generic concept covers? Melissa Ricks is a hottie, for sure, but this cover, interchangeable in concept with a hundred others, isn't doing her justice.

Still prefer the "form factor" of actual books and magazines over e-Books? Here's a listing of bookstores around the metro where you might find your favorite titles.

4. Women's Health

Angelica Panganiban. So aptly named. I heard she's single again. Thank you, Derek for sharing her with the world again! Your ex can still tease like a Barely Legal actress. I'm transfixed.

3. Breakfast

The hottest new food magazine in the Philippines again makes waves. A baby in the periodical business, but what a noisy baby! In only its fourth issue, the editors have already featured the most interesting and controversial celebrities around on its covers: Juday Santos, Pokwang, Iza Calzado, and now, Mr. RH himself, the peripatetic Carlos Celdran!

2. Rogue

Ah. The one I have named the "Best Damn Magazine in the country". Always reliable. Always intelligent. Always creative. Always dramatic. The September issue features the best of style, design, and fashion, and the cover seems to be a homage to both BryanBoy and Bacon.

Reading can take you places --- and so can EYP Travel & Leisure, where you'll find the best options for travel agencies, hotels, resorts, and places to visit!

1. Esquire

Ramon Ang. My new Philippine Idol. The audacity of this new leader of PAL to buy a new fleet of airplanes and the temerity to build a new international airport. Damn. That makes me proud to be a Filipino. I heard he's quite the ball-breaker too. Exactly the sort of man that I'd want behind the controls of our National Carrier. Make Philippine Airlines fly high again, Mr. Ang, and I may want you as my President!
