For almost three decades, this landmark was known as the "Cebu Midtown," the most imposing hotel in this area of Cebu City, and one that I always wanted to stay in, ever since my first trip to the Queen City back in 1995. But I was intimidated by its sheer size, and I thought the room rates would be as imposing as the hotel itself.

Apparently, they aren't. The room rates are surprisingly very affordable for a hotel of this caliber~ and they come with an excellent buffet breakfast at its new C2 restaurant.

I love this part of Sugbu~ right across the Fuente Osmena Circle is Larsian, the Barbecue Capital of the City, and my favorite late night, post drinking hangout for Chicken Skin "sugba" and the banana-leaf wrapped puto-like rice called "puso".

I finally had the chance to stay at this hotel around a decade ago and I quickly fell in love~ not just with the hotel (because I could walk to Larsian any time) but I quite literally, fell for another human being. I met a very nice young lady who was also staying at the hotel, and we had one of those "chick flick-meet cute" moments. We stayed up at the hotel bar near this lobby 'til 3am. That lobby, by the way, has been completely refurbished, and everything is brand new, but the memories of that amazing night from 2004 remain bubbling just under the surface.

While I didn't have the same kind of romantic interlude during my recent stay, I'm glad to say that the personnel of Summit Circle are as always, very "gwapa!!!"

And so are the rooms! The awesome view of the Fuente Osmena Circle above, and all the lush hilltops surrounding Cebu, was taken from my 11th floor room.

And, oh man, after a hot day in Cebu, what could be better than a cool Rain Shower in the bathroom?

And there's no better way to end a long day and night of walking and eating around Cebu than on this absurdly comfortable bed with pure cotton sheets, and chiropractic pillows!!!
