Back in 2004, Jerome Borazio and Danny Rogers created this festival because they thought summers in Melbourne would be more fun if there's more live music in unique settings. Hence, they started the St. Jerome's Bar in Melbourne's Calendonian lane. First it was a weekly thing, then slowly became the festival it is today. Fourteen hundred people attended the first Laneway Festival and it has continued to be successful ever since.
St. Jerome's Laneway Festival has this unique philosophy:
"The Laneway Festival is about leading new and revered seminal music. The festival has always been interested in finding what's fresh and great and bringing it to unique settings and surrounds to be appreciated by music lovers. The size of the festivals, the locations and the way we encourage community all form part of the way in which the Laneway team strive to present an urban music experience like no other."

This kind of scene reminds me of them hipsters and music junkies. On the 12th of February, 14 artists will rock the stage at Fort Canning, Singapore, for only $136 Singaporean Dollars (that's less than PHP 5000.00, definitely so worth the money!). The line-up is as follows: Anna Calvi, Austria, Cults, Feist, Girls, Laura Marling, M83, The Drums, The Horrors, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Toro Y Moi, Twin Shadow, Wu Lyf and Yuck.
