I was getting so obsessed with the Avengers movie, it was starting to influence my "Draw Something" skills~

I was counting the days until the movie opened; and I couldn't believe that (thanks to the fear of piracy) fans all over Asia and Australia/New Zealand would be able to catch the blockbuster a full Ten Days before the U.S.

My Facebook timeline was filled with Avengers posts in the days leading up to April 25 (April 24 in the States, or 240 hours before it opens on May 4), and right after work on that Wednesday, I rushed to the nearest theater, Newport in Resorts World. As expected, massive crowds and elongated queues were snaking all around the ticket booths, and I guess the Demi-Gods of Asgard were smiling down on me that day, as my friends and I got the last precious seats for the 6:00pm showing in the plush theater usually reserved for "The Sound of Music."

P350.00 for an almost two and a half hour 3-D screening of The Avengers? Now that's what I call a serendipitous bargain!!!

So how was the movie? I'll give it the highest compliment: it's just like the comics! The film starts off with a bang, then shifts to a lower gear to thoughtfully set up the action ahead,and then ventures into the classic Avengers comic book device of having our heroes fight it out with each other before joining forces against the bad guys. Along the way, Director and Writer Joss Whedon skillfully draws us in into an emotional story arc punctuated by bursts of dry humor.

And when the massive action centerpiece finally arrives~ it's just like in the very first issue of the comic book: the Avengers versus Loki! The movie's last 45 minutes quite simply, is the grandest, noisiest, most "smash"-ing superhero movie making magic you've ever seen.It will leave you breathless, and like the team's debut back in 1963~ it will make you want to stand up and cheer for Earth's Mightiest Super-Heroes!

I will not ruin the surprises for you. Suffice to say, you will feel like a child once again, thrilled with the adventure of seeing Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk together for the very first time.

I suggest you watch this in IMAX 3-D for the full experience. I plan to do just that this weekend. I'm still giddy!!!

Bring on the Avengers again ASAP!!!
