Parokya ni Edgar's Inuman Sessions Vol. 2: The Album Launch
Posted on August 30, 2012 by Alexis Betia
As one of, if not the quintessential OPM band of the 90’s, Parokya ni Edgar
has been the theme song and anthem to many experiences of our youth. From drunkenly singing "Tama na yan, inuman na!
" with our barkadas
over the curveballs life has thrown our way, to learning or wishing someone would sing us Harana
, to realizing the wisdom behind Sampip
while laying alone in our bed
, Chito, Vinci, Buwi, Dar, Gab, and Dindin have played on our walkmans, CD players, and iPods
every step of the way.
It’s been eight (looooong) years since they released Inuman Sessions Volume 1, and while they’ve released other albums, singles, collaborations
, and even a DVD
in between, it’s difficult to hide our excitement over the fact that Volume 2 is finally, FINALLY, out.
Hundreds made their way to the Eastwood Central Plaza, braving the rain and traffic, for their album launch, and clearly the group hasn’t lost their charisma and way with the crowd. If anything, Parokya
has only gotten better with time, and their camaraderie is infectious to say the least. They really feel like you’re part of their barkada
, and it doesn’t hurt that their music and lyricism is on point with practically every aspect and experience of not just growing up Filipino but being one as well. Parokya ni Edgar
is still as crazy, kenkoy
, and charming as they were when they first hit the music scene a decade ago. We hope you enjoy these photos
as much as we enjoyed taking them! For more places to catch good music, here's an EYP Quick List of the best music bars in the Metro.
