LATE BLOOMER: My New Favorite Old TV Shows

Posted on August 17, 2012 by Spanky Hizon Enriquez
I swear.

Jack Bauer's daughter, a.k.a. The Girl Next Door, is not the only reason I suddenly fell in love with a two-year-old sitcom.

Well, to be completely honest, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well Elisha Cuthbert's matured since her ingenue days, and how RAWR-worthy she still is.

We use our laptops for office and freelance work, surfing the net, and yes, watching movies and TV series. Here are some suggestions from EYP to keep your laptops clean and in perfect shape.

I was bemoaning the end of the seasons of my favorite U.S. TV shows, and with no other choices immediately before and after the Olympics, I serendipitously spotted an article entitled "The Best TV Shows that you've Never Watched", and read about one called "Happy Endings".

As a fan of "Six Friend" comedies such as Friends and BBC's Coupling, I figured that this one deserved at least a trial viewing of one episode...

It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life as a couch potato!

This show is as funny, smart, and warm as the two classics I mentioned above.

Very very highly recommended. Oh, I mentioned Elisha Cuthbert, right? Oh yeah, I did!

Meet Meghan Markle.

OMG. One of the most gorgeous freckled faces I've ever laid eyes on.

She plays paralegal Rachel Zane in the wittiest legal show since the first seasons of Ally McBeal. A show that went completely under my radar, if for no other reason than I thought it was about tailors and bespoke apparel.

However, over the past few months, I noticed that more and more of my most trusted friends/amateur TV critics/DVD addicts were raving about this show. Finally, one afternoon in Makati Cinema Square, I took the plunge.

It was one of the best P50.00 investments I ever made.

I actually cancelled a lunch and a dinner because I didn't want to leave my room where I was having a DVD marathon. A few minutes into the first episode? I was hooked.

You will be too. Consider this as a subpoena.

You're hereby ordered to watch Suits. Now.
