Dining
For the longest time, the only way I could taste Mac & Cheese in the Philippines was whenever I visited one of the Duty Free stores/groceries in Clark or Subic, and bought a bunch of blue boxes of the classic Kraft version. The Philippines was a solid "Baked Mac" country (no doubt because it tasted like our "Pinoy Spaghetti"), and it took decades before the cheesy American favorite took hold. But when it finally did, it suddenly seemed like it has always belonged. Mac & Cheese is now a staple in many of MMLA's best restaurants.

The second best version is available at 2nd's at the Bonifacio High Street~ it's got a potato chip crust, and the option to add chorizos (!) to the mix.
There are other wonderful takes on this dish~ Lusso's decadent version in Greenbelt 5, and Mr. Jones a stone's throw away. But for me, far and away, the best Mac & Cheese in the city? The 5-cheese, truffle-infused magnificence of LuLu in Rockwell!!!
Post Script: for emergencies, where you just have to have your M&C fix in the middle of the night? Try Lucky Me's easy to cook (5 minutes) and wonderfully neon yellow version.
