PIZZANATICS UNITED!

Posted on July 23, 2012 by Spanky Hizon Enriquez
2012 might be a banner year for pizza lovers. Nay... it may be one of the greatest years ever!

I can't remember a time when there was such a confluence of pizza promos, all promising beautiful bargains from the top pizza purveyors in the country!

I've always maintained that pizza is perhaps the most perfect food of all ---

Proteins, dairy, vegetables, carbohydrates -- the meat, the cheese, the tomatoes, the dough -- all in one convenient, healthy, affordable, and delicious delivery system. It's so perfect, plates aren't even needed to partake of the glorious pizza.

Three pizza giants are offering "buy one, take one" deals ~

Papa John's has it every day (!) for certain pizzas.

And you can celebrate at CPK on August 15.

I can't stand John Lloyd's "barkada" in their deliberately cheesy Greenwich TV commercials, but I have to admit, I do love all the innovative variants of this local chain. After all, why be satisfied with Quattro Formaggi when you can have Seven Cheeses?

I've always loved anchovies -- especially when I learned how to pronounce it properly.

I'm so chuffed that Yellow Cab now has an "Anchovy Lover's" pizza. Oh, it's pronounced an-CH-o-vee, not an-K-o-vee. :)

What's up with the two most senior players in the Pizza world?

I can't even begin to compute how many Pan Pizzas I've had delivered over the years, but Pizza Hut, after decades, has finally surrendered and introduced a thin crust pizza! This ought to be grand...

... But still, I don't thin-k that any-thin-g can match, or even compare, with the original THIN crust pizza, the one most Pinoys grew up with!

To this day, I can still recite, from memory, most of the items on the Shakey's menu. Friday Special and Manager's Choice, anyone?

Thin Crust, of course!
