Saab's Favorite New Local Tracks

Posted on March 02, 2011 by Saab Magalona

I’m a big fan of OPM artists and I want to share some (fairly) new tracks with you guys!

1. SANDWICH - SULPUTIN

First track is from one of my favorite bands, Sandwich. It’s called Sulputin and the whoaaaa part in the chorus just got me hooked. There are a lot more soon-to-be hits from their new album Contra Tiempo and I’ve had their album on repeat this whole weekend (my favorites aside from Sulputin are Pera Pera, Bisikleta and Dispalinghado.)

2. PASTA GROOVE FEAT. ARMI MILLARE – ANG MUNDO

Songs involving Armi Millare (Up Dharma Down) are instant favorites of mine and hearing her voice over a Pasta Groove track just makes me really happy. You should also listen to their older collaboration, Give Bearth. Ang Mundo is off Pasta Groove’s latest album, Ill Primitivo.

3. BEE EYES – BLACK SAABATH

Yes, this song was written for me, but no, I am not biased – it’s an awesome song! I love all the Bee Eyes songs. I love how they’re so raw and every song is catchy – you must watch them live, they can get crazy. It’s always fun to be around these guys. Now if I can only get them to the studio so they can properly record their stuff… I can’t wait for their album. If you want to download their acoustic demos click here.

Do you have any new local songs you can share with me? I’m starting this new thing on my blog where I post one song a day and I want to include as much local stuff as I can! Leave suggestions and links on the comments section below please!

I like this! OPM is actually getting better and better...Filipino Ingenuity means World Class quality nowadays. Our musicians wants something more meaningful and creative like what Francis M. did. He thought out of the box...and made it! He's a non-conformist...He made change happen in the music industry. APO also made a mark in their generation and made unforgettable hits. VST and Co.,NeoColors,The Company, Eraserheads, Freestyle and a lot of bands emerge to make good music.I love Filipino Music...I'm such a fan. Gonna try listening to this saab...

REAL OPM Artists deserve our attention - thanks, Saab! Basta real artists - I hate these Karaoke singers who sell tons of CDs of re-makes/covers, some even have the gall to pass them off as their own. There are so many authentic artists out there, not these biritsters they hawk on Tv variety shows. How do you discover them, Saab? Sana Juice bloggers would respond to our comments.
